Augustana Arts
For over 15 years, Augustana Arts has had an active concert series, hosting choirs, soloists, orchestras and instrumentalists from across the nation and abroad.More than 8,000 audience members will participate in Augustana Arts’ activities during the 2012 – 2013 season with performances ranging from the internationally acclaimed a cappella vocal groups, VOCES8 and Chanticleer. Also the ever popular local singing group, Sound of the Rockies, will be back, and much more!
The City Strings program offers private violin, viola and cello lessons to children (age 4-16) from low-income families in the Denver metropolitan area. The program exposes ‘at-risk’ children to music, but it also helps them to attain other educational goals by teaching self-discipline and developing self-confidence.
Augustana Arts offers free outreach performances at prisons, nursing homes, hospitals and hospice centers which delight the spirit by offering joy, hope and comfort to those who would not otherwise be able to attend performances.
