Colorado Chamber Players
The Colorado Chamber Players (CCP), now in its 26th Season, is a fully professional mixed chamber ensemble. The group’s core is string quartet, 2nd cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, 2 pianos, and guitar. The CCP has garnered awards and grants at the local and national level, including those from Chamber Music America, Colorado Creative Industries, National Endowment for the Arts, ARRA, Denver Office of Culture and the Arts, SCFD, Colorado Council on the Arts, Meet the Composer, Argosy Foundation, Copland Foundation, and many others. The CCP performs 45+ concerts each season, primarily in the Denver Metro region, and is featured on over 30 annual Colorado Public Radio broadcasts, heard statewide in Colorado. The CCP was thrilled to perform at the Museo de las Americas in 2010 as part of the Denver Biennial of the Americas. The CCP was a proud partner and co-sponsor of the Haydn Quartet Slam in 2012-13. In 2020, the ensemble premiered “Incessant Hum”, a music/theatre hybrid about Beethoven’s hearing loss.

Below is a video excerpt from Revolutionary Times, a recent production of Colorado Chamber Players in which the CCP String Quartet performed with two actors in a zany theatrical program all about classical music, the Revolutionary War against the British, and European royalty. The script was written by Josh Hartwell (writer for Buntport Theatre’s series for kids, TRUNKS).
Actors Jake Walker and Lindsey Pierce brought Josh Hartwell’s hilarious script to life, directed by Curious Theater’s Mare Trevathan, with Haydn’s quartet Op. 2 #1 in Eb performed by Colorado Chamber Players musicians Paul Primus, Barbara Hamilton, Judith McIntyre, and Catherine Beeson.
