D. L. Parsons Theatre – The Scen3
The D.L. Parsons Theatre is north metro Denver’s oldest theatre providing entertainment year-round to patrons of all ages. The theatre seats 320 and is owned and operated by the City of Northglenn. The D.L. Parsons Theatre, named after former Mayor Don Parsons, is in the Northglenn Recreation Center located near the southeast corner of 120th Avenue and I-25. Built in 1976, the nearly 40-year-old theatre has seen its share of talent and community activities over the years. The theatre is currently home to the award-winning Northglenn Youth Theatre (NYT), the Northglenn Players, and the Northland Chorale. The theatre has also hosted Missoula Children Theatre productions for 25 years.The D.L. Parsons Theatre is available for rent and is booked over 300 days per year, offering a wide variety of entertainment and community services including ballet, children’s theatre, travel films, church services, and community theatre. The theatre is part of Northglenn’s cultural services program, which also offers arts enrichment classes for children that include dance, visual art, and drama camps and classes. Northglenn’s cultural programs include free summer concerts in the park and outdoor sculpture located throughout the City. Many of the programs are funded in part by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) and the Northglenn Arts & Humanities Foundation (NAHF).
